Vega has an abundant fauna and a rich animal life. The opportunities for hunting are many. Hunting may be carried out on common land and private property. However, hunting is not allowed without permission from the landowner and a hunting licence must be obtained before hunting.

Hunting is strictly regulated in Norway. Hunters must be skilled in handling firearms, traps and other equipment, and must be familiar with relevant rules and regulations. They must know which species they may hunt and be able to recognise them.

Licence for hunting (grouse, roe deer, goose, duck and hare) in Vega can be bought on the web site (only in Norwegian)
